"Banffshire Gem"

"When visiting Scotland, one is instinctively drawn to the Highlands, the West coast, or indeed the capital city Edinburgh. But tucked away up in the North East corner is the hidden and little-known coastal gem of Banffshire and the countryside of Aberdeenshire and Royal Deeside all easily accessible from the gorgeous Maunderlea Lodges. Our eco-friendly holiday lodge was beautifully and warmly presented by Lorraine and her family in what can only be described as an ideal location for exploring either inland or coast. The lodge was one of four very modern and exceptionally well appointed home-from-homes (we should be so lucky), with ample space for everyone and facilities with great disabled access on the ground floor. Despite having lodges some distance on either side there was never a sense of being overlooked, each with their own vista of the Grampians. A short walk up the hill took you to a small viewpoint where you were presented with uninterrupted views of the stunning Moray Firth or the far mountains bathed in sunshine form the setting sun. Great location for walking, biking, visiting one of many distilleries offering the ‘water of life’, or even more spectacular castles. Peace and tranquillity surrounds you, or visit Aberdeen or Inverness for city excursions. Our family cannot recommend this splendid group of holiday lodges highly enough for couples, families, or small groups seeking the perfect getaway."

"What a discovery!"

We were in Scotland on vacation from Canada and felt like staying in one place for a few days and visit the area slowly. We found the Hill of Maunderlea lodges and stayed there for the rest of our vacation. What a beautiful place! The house is fabulous with everything inside top of the line. The outside is idyllic, the view is breathtaking, I don't have enough words to describe it. The owners greeted us like friends and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Thanks again for arranging a work area for me. If we go back to Scotland, we will be sure to return to your lodge. Best regards from Canada!

"Home from Home"

“As annual visitors to the Banff area for the past number of years, we were made aware of the lodges at Hill of Maunderlea. My wife and I, together with our granddaughter, spent three fantastic weeks using the lodge as our base. The lodges are not only beautifully appointed with magnificent views but are also ideally located to explore the area. It was a wonderful experience to be welcomed by Lorraine who not only catered for our every requirement but made us feel completely at home. We have already booked the lodge for next year and cannot wait to visit again."

The trees that surround the building and the Green that envelops permanently what reaches the view, produce you a feeling of great relaxation. The attention of the owners has been excenlente of an exquisite kindness. In the surrounding area boasts amazing landscapes, they are charming towns and fascinating monuments. A highly recommended place."

"Home away from Home"

"We left our hearts in the Hills of Maunderlea. The unit was spotless and modern. The walking paths were well maintained with plenty of places to rest along the way.The viewpoint takes your breath away, providing views extending to the North Sea. The owners are very visible and ready to help, even if it meant sharing their Sat-Nav with chronically lost guests like us. Whether you follow the Whiskey trail, play golf, hike or just relax you will find plenty to do in Northern Scotland. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and family. We hope to return soon."
